Erin + Landon married at bride Erin's grandmother's home and the neighboring close family friend's residence.
The day before the wedding I hosted a bridesmaid bouquet making party with Erin and all her bridesmaids. Florals were seasoned with the same bits of blues and greens that matched the waters Erin was raised around. From day one of planning, Erin wanted to build her wedding aesthetic around her grandmother's blue green hydrangeas, with a sprinkling of shells and driftwood she collected, high-tide of nostalgia.
I planned, coordinated and designed with her and the troop of mothers/aunts/women that made beautiful Erin the woman and wife and mother she now is today. With this same group of ladies making the wedding food, we kept the menu classic to a typical summer on Vashon, making family caught salmon the main course, with lots of local veggies to compliment. I kept general decorations and styling relatively basic so as not to overpower the naturally lovely setting and all it's organic normalcies.
The ceremony was an informal gathering along the shore, overflowing in simplicity in it's best forms, as really was the entire affair. It was important to Erin and I to not let little odes to a 'nautical theme' go kitschy, which can happen fast, but the relaxed, homey setting had guests literally rolling down the grass greens and dancing late into the night, giggling and falling asleep under the stars, which is a testament to how wonderfully perfect this celebration sincerely was.
